Even after the Brexit, products from Funtime Gifts arrive at European destinations

SoSometimes situations arise that call for a creative solution. Tim Jansen, business office manager at Chain Logistics: “Because of the Brexit, the crazy scenario can arise that it is cheaper for customers from England to send a package to us, which we then forward to Ireland.” One such customer is Funtime Gifts, a store based in Kent, UK, with a range of toys, gifts, games, gadgets, puzzles, lights and confectionery.

Think along with us
Chain Logistics handles transport, storage and packaging for Funtime Gifts. Neil Sugden, director of Funtime Gifts says, “Chain is always willing to think with us about new ways to sell our products to the EU. They give good advice on the best solutions to achieve this. They now process ten to fifteen orders a month for us, mostly large pallet orders.”

Throughout Europe
Employees in Funtime Gifts’ warehouse prepare the goods for shipment. Chain Logistics picks up the goods in England and sends package and pallet shipments all over Europe. Goods are also in storage at Chain, which are repacked from there.

Challenge after Brexit
These include bags of penis paste, which Chain Logistics assembly workers place in product boxes. Those boxes are labeled with the expiration date and packed in a carton. Then they are ready for sale. Neil Sugden: “Starting in the summer of 2021, we partnered with Chain Logistics. We were curious to see if they could meet our transportation, storage and packaging needs after the Brexit. They succeeded.”

Step up
Funtime Gifts engaged Chain Logistics for a clear reason. “Chain had a lot of knowledge of our industry. They offered solutions to all our questions at that time. Without Chain, we might have lost a lot of European business. There were occasional delays in processing orders, which had to do with departing staff members at Chain. They stepped up to the plate and orders are now being shipped on time again. That gives confidence for the future”, says Neil Cugden satisfied. metimes situations arise that call for a creative solution.
